![]() I have been trying out some of the latest mobile phones and there has been a big increase in the quality and quantity of the tracks they play, while mobile phone cameras – especially with the release of 3- and 5-megapixel models, such as the Nokia N80 and the LG KG920 – are now as good as the standard digital cameras of a couple of years ago. For most buyers it will be the device of choice for playing music and taking photographs. “Well, the war is finally over: and the mobile phone has emerged as the winner on two key fronts. Steve Jobs: “Please, don’t give up on us now. Maybe someone will write an open source alternative that supports the iTV and isn’t so resource hungry. It’s a bit of a shame that it’s only designed to work with iTunes, but that’s not exactly surprising. With Apple making it I’d expect it to work well and be easy to use, although I wonder if it’ll end up working better with Apple hardware than when connected with a PC. ![]() Keeping the computer running in another room and using a settop box to connect it to the TV seems like a good option. I definitely don’t want to have to listen to fans and drives during quiet sections of a film or album. I know a lot of people will think I’m making a fuss about nothing, but I spent quite a lot on decent AV hardware so that there wouldn’t be any audible hiss or distortion. I wouldn’t be happy with that running in my living room while I’m watching a film or listening to music. The XBox360 for example is quite a noisy device, significantly louder than my PC. I assume that this will not need a fan, and there wouldn’t even be noise from a spinning disc. Thank you CPUs for your ease let us know what you find if you have the time to check out this gadget on your system. One thing that appeals about this is the lack of noise it seems to offer. Just a curiosity if you don't mind can you try one stock and one OC? It would be very interesting to see a power usage reading for my CPU, I might check this out and see if it works on my ageing sandybridge. Unfortunately in this case I would say that your hardware is returning data that the program either can't handle or is interpreting completely wrong. Unfortunately with computer hardware, because of so many variations and different manufacturers all in the mix sensor data doesn't always return the 'correct reading'. One thing.perhaps the 'Watts' reading is something funky like 'watts dissipated in heat' by the CPU, or some other esoteric reading that's not described by the gadget guide. It's a relatively new gadget (Jan 2014) so I would think they would be interested in our observations. I wish there was a way to submit this thread for viewing by the Intel developers of that gadget. Is anyone out there very familiar with this tool?īy the way I am running Windows 7 home premium on an 'MSI Z87M Gaming' motherboard and an Intel i5-4670k. ![]() The Intel power gadget CPU frequency and Temperature readings match the readings I get when simultaneously running MSI/Intel stress test from the MSI/Intel Extreme Tuning Utility (this utility does not measure CPU power usage) but the power readings seem odd.the Intel Power Gadget mostly shows my CPU as using between about 1 and 2 watts while my system is not doing much and only about 15 watts when the MSI/Intel Etreme Tuning Utility runs it's CPU stress test and pushes CPU utilization up to 100%. I installed it on my new rig and seem to be getting nonsensical CPU power readings. Supposedly it measures CPU power consumption (and three other CPU functions) It's been updated for use with Windows 7 64 bit and submitted to the site for downloading on by one of the Intel developers. Ok, so I found what looks like a cool gadget direct from Intel's web site called 'Intel Power Gadget'.
